If you let everyone post on your Facebook page, keep a close eye on it. That ought to be a golden rule. Right?
The BBC’s official Apprentice page on Facebook is a good example of what can go wrong if you don’t.
The TV series was months ago, and I bet it’s no one’s job to keep an eye on the show’s Page.
Yesterday the most recent post was pornographic. I’ve censored it below, but on Facebook it’s a clear image of two people in the act. With the business end nearest the camera!
There are settings to control this kind of thing.
There’s nothing wrong with ticking all four boxes, as long as you keep a close eye on the Page. And as long as the person whose job it was to keep a close eye on it, hasn’t left.
Oh – and if you’re going to leave a Page live and unmonitored, change the settings…
UPDATE – the offending post has just been removed!
